Utilising My Back Row
I like to think I have a good back row and a fairly average front 5, I was wondering if there was a way for me to incorporate this into my game plan? I was thinking maybe using driving plays more often in offence and drift in defence but I want to know what you guys think..
Thanks for any help in advance.

Re: Utilising My Back Row
Pick n Gos emphasise more backrow movement.
Expansive also emphasises the backrow more. Driving will warrant a semi decent tight 5. What are your backrows stats cancer?
Interesting name btw...

Re: Utilising My Back Row
As an initial observation, I'd look at switching your 7 and 8 over .....
Also your 6 would be a half decent second row. Given any thought to moving him and bringing on a new 6?

Re: Utilising My Back Row
I used to play my 7 at 8 and my 8 at 7 but I thought it was best to have the higher Technique on the flank no? I'll give it a go in the cup tomorrow.
I do stick my 6 in at 5 occasionally but I have two young tall guys there at the moment that Im developing. Thanks for the suggestions.
So we think that Pick n Go's are the way forward to get the best out of my back row?

PnG and driving plays will create rucks more than exp and creative, which should give more chances for your back row to be involved. Whether that's a good thing is a different thing.

Re: Utilising My Back Row
It doesn't take account of how strong the rest of your team is. If people defend using rush it could be much harder to score points, and such plays result in a lower % of scoring phases anyway, though for any given phase they are more likely to succeed.
It's worth looking at. But keep in mind your back row is more likely to support the breakdown than your tighter 5 anyway, and I wouldn't rule out seeing how the back row goes with more expansive and creative players. And if you're weakness is the tight 5 then reducing their involvement might be more important than increasing the back row's
