I am looking to save money and was wondering if I should fire my kicking coach.

At lvl5 they cost 180k per season, so basically you could train a fly-half for 3 seasons for 540k, or you could buy a decent fly-half for the same amount. But sometimes that no. 10 can go for crazy amounts and 540k won't cut it.

I like having a kicking coach personally, because I doubt I could afford a 16-17 skill kicker with enough TSP in other areas to cut it in my division. Plus I get the added bonus of training my scrum half and fullbacks a bit too.

I've wondered about getting rid of my stamina trainer though, and just going with constant stamina TT.

you need 4 coaches to train a flyhalf thats 1.16 million

unless your only training kicking then its even more of an inefficient use of money as he will have many weaknesses

i never owned a kicking coach in 24 seasons and it honestly did no harm

Yeah, but you'll almost certainly already have the other coaches anyway. The kicker is the only one that's a real specialty.

well indeed he is but you could be using those training sessions on other players to improve your team so i still class it as spending money on a flyhalf

if its too expensive you could save the money for 4 seasons whilst training another player without kicking

sell that player and buy a player with the money from the sale and all your saved money and have one heck of a flyhalf

plus likely some money left over

What I'd suggest if you have a kicking trainer is to aim for training 2 or more kickers at any one time. And then selling kickers to fund buys in other areas.

If you consistently only use 2 or less of the 6 kicking nets it is difficult to justify

So the vote is 2-1 for having one?
