Making money
Hello gentlemen,
I know its been a long time since I have been active, unfortunately my partner and I are having a baby, and there are complications but lets not get into that.
For sometime now, pretty much since the beginning of my time on this game, I have lost money. It comes to a point in the game where simply training players (usually 3 players for national duties) just is not suitable for the rest of the team.
To try saving money the first thing i have done is stop training u20's, at least for some time until my club is back on its feet. I have sacked all the u20's staff and removed the facilities.
That has helped but i feel sad that i have to miss out on u20's.
I am now thinking of selling my top CSR players, as they are a bit over kill for division 3 and instead buy 3 or 4 more average players. This will help with weekly salaries. Of course though this will make me sad as i will miss my players.I would sell John Duff (Potential England player) and maybe Leon Bryne. I dont really want to do this but i just cant see what else i can do?
Some help would be greatly appreciated

Re: Making money
Something else I have considered is dropping my coaching staff level down from 5 to 4?

Re: Making money
Don't drop the staff unless you have to. It'll cost a fortune to advertise again. What might be viable is to drop the facilities down to lvl 4, with the selling and rebuild nettted off I think it costs something like $150k to rebuild the level 5, and you've got about 2 seasons until it'd have been more efficient to fire and rehire lvl 5 trainers, and all that time costs are dropped $40k/week
Earl Michaels would sell for a fortune like Duff, both would be of strong interest to the England NT
Also will Preston Olsen will listed asap?

Re: Making money
If you drop training to lvl 4 please sell him. If you keep the level 5s please train him. And please play him, he's got no caps in the YA so some exp gains really important.

Re: Making money
You basically have 2 options.
1. Drastic rebuild. Forget about training for the next 3 seasons do a firesale. And create a squad that can make you finish 6th or 5th. This way you will be out of immediate money problems and moves your team into a much better position for the future. Don't worry about performing too much and just pocket the cash. You can hoard stars or keep your ya. A good way of doing this is buying cheap oldies who aren't dropping skills just yet.
2. A slow rebuild. Money problems always has 1 cause in BR. Bigger expenses than income. Your stadium looks to be in perfect shape. Your team is too good for Div III I reckon. My advice would be to lower the salary on your side. You probably will make the playoffs so try to get a lower salary per week (preferably by quite some margin) than your league rivals and still try to perform. This will mean selling off some player and specifically target a salary range on the tm for the player you buy back. You want him good enough to perform but still win the money battle. Even if you don't bounce back up immediately if you save more money by cutting salaries than the difference in prize money than you are still moving ahead. This may be a slow approach but in time you will get better.
My advice would be to try to keep at 22 player the year round. This means you really need to rotate players around a lot even for big matches. Keep the level of your side that you will beat teams with lower rating and don't care too much about teams with higher rating. Watch your contentment. Your average contentment will greatly influence what income you have compared with the teams that started at a similar time as your team. Perhaps forfeit a few games against higher ranked or even similar ranked teams and try to snatch an extra cup round.
My team will eventually be able to buy someone if the player has serious rep chances.

Re: Making money
I've just had a look at your team and can't understand how you're losing money.
You've got 24 players, which is quite normal.
You've just upgraded from 28,000 seater stadium which you were filling to 32,000 seater, which you filled in your last game.
You have 8 salary saver players.
I don't really have any advice to offer here.
If you've got an academy, you need to sell some players each season to make some money back, otherwise it is a big drain.
How much do you make on home games? If must be close to $400,000?
You keep putting Preston Olson, with 360 stars, on the bench. Why would you do that??!!
How many coaches do you have?

Re: Making money
Hey guys thanks for all the replies, i think i've got it sorted, i sold a player, stopped most of my academy except youth scout, and got some cheap players to keep my squad at 24. And I did make $400k on last match, but tbf i only just sorted my stadium out, for ages it was so small.
As for Pretson... I made a fuck up there, been so busy with RL i forgot to put him on the team, my bad!
Touch wood I am sorted and will be back up to div II in maybe 2 season.
Peace

Re: Making money
You never pass the ball anymore with your finger tips
And there's no tenacity in your sidestep when you shake your hips
Your trying hard not to show it baby
But baby I know iiiit
You've lost that scrumming feeling woa that scrumming feeling

OH baby, baby...
Though i've lost some swing in my hips,
and i'm not so soft with my finger tips,
I make it up in other ways,
I'm the hardest hit,
and i can turnover just the way you like it
I've not lost my scrumming baby,
I've just moved to the backrow x
