Best attributes for a no8

I have discovered the most important attributes for an 8. And they are mentals.

For the 2nd time this season, my timid.reckless 8 has cost me a match. I've lost 2 matches all season (1 cup, 1 league).

5 penalties given away, out of 14 team penalties. Next worst gave away 2.

Question is: should I just replace him with a far worse player?

Also, I fell away in the second half of my match. Winning 28-23 at half time, lost 50-31. Only 3 points in the second half, and lost the penalty count 9-2...

My team doesn't have bad stamina. Most of my starting 15 have stamina between 15-18. So why the sudden drop off. I haven't watched the match yet, but still...

Totally agree with your assessment on the number 8. He needs to be a big man that can pick up the ball and plough forward on a P&G strategy and not give away fouls. I don't think that Timid/Reckless is a good combination for any position! If you can't replace him, you could play a back friendly tactic so the 8 becomes less involved...

I would perhaps agree reckless wouldn't be my first choice at #8, but my 8man is reckless and he's on his way to being a decent enough player. Also Sargood as well as being timid/reckless has lower CSR, and not much exp, so he's likely being found out for things other than just his mentals.

If you're looking to drop the involvement of the 8 you may also find an expansive game can up the involvement of the 8. As to whether you should keep him, well I wouldn't select a much worse player, and hopefully at that CSR any TT is going to improve him and gains in exp will help a lot, but if you were able to sign a better player it's a much faster way to improve performance than 5 seasons of TT and exp gains.

Hes not comparitively worse than the rest of my team though. Just i bought a few better playersv recently.

And he has reasonably low involvement anyway...
