Height and weight vs jumping and strength
So, while a 207cm 120kg 18jum 18str is better, theyre also bloody expensive. So whats the cut off? Would you rather sacrifice 3cm or 1 skill in jumping? What about 5kg or 1 strength?
For me, ive always cut off at 112kg for locks as an absolute minimum. But what if I could get a much more skilled guy who was just 105kg? Would it be worthwhile?

Re: Height and weight vs jumping and strength
Here I am, trying to get a discussion going
What is everyone's opinion on the height vs jumping and weight vs strength?
Do we know what kind of correlation there is? Or have an idea of what one may be?
It's hard to judge based on real life, as Maro Itoje definitely doesn't look underpowered at 116kg, George Robson did at 112...Parling sometimes did at 117...
And usually BR players are heavier and taller than their RL counterparts.
But if Weight and Strength are linked, and the strength skill is high enough, could the benefits of better stamina and improved speed outweigh the lack of strength?
Height is less so, as it only seems to impact agility. So I think you should probably always aim for taller players. But weight...

Re: Height and weight vs jumping and strength
Weight is a big aid to mauls, to breaking/making tackles based on str not agi, and at the breakdown. That said the most important thing a lock can do is win lineout ball which is 50% or more of 1st phase ball in BR. Just one other, locks can miss a lot of tackles and make a lot of linebreaks, so where those might be based on agi the lighter lock might come more into their own.
As to the tradeoff, well at least as regards height I'd broadly take height over jumping skills, the height being fixed and not subject to stamina dropoffs. So without question I'd take a 207cm lock on 15 jumping over a 201cm lock on 18 jumping even. Not so sure about weight, one doesn't tend to come across 205/206cm players at 98-109kg, but height would be the main reason I'd overlook weight not str.

If only there was the option of having two locks in your team. Then you could have one tall and one heavy!

Re: Height and weight vs jumping and strength
There was an old school of thought of a tall 4, heavy 5. I think I've also seen somewhere it's 4cm per skill point. So effectively 206 - 15jumping is the same as 202-16jumping, but I may be wrong.
Older locks are reasonable priced, I bought 31yr old 206cm, 127Kg with 17 jumping and handling (if I remember correctly) for 800K. He was on 250K CSR at the time. Sold one of my academy players for just under a million at 20, 206cm, 108Kg, had 14s in jumping and strength, too light for my pack, wish I'd kept him now though.

Re: Height and weight vs jumping and strength
I've gone as short as 198cm, which caused some problems but not too much given the level. Icer back in the day had a 196cm lock I think, but he was an NT giant. Now I'd think 202/203cm is as short as I'd go
