The 1st two look way too pricey, I suppose if you can afford them go for it. But I know they'd have been way beyond me when I was initially in Div 4, still now to be honest. Cuss looks a decent winger, but I don't think the return on TM cost + wages is good enough if you're talking about bringing in a winger.
It's annoying you can't quickly improve your team. But there isn't a magic button for anyone else either. And as a whole those players look like you'd be trying to achieve too much too quickly.

I wouldn't worry too much about the height ratio. In games were you're close it won't be much of a factor. MacDonnell does look a reasonable option. Shame with that handling he's no option as a hooker, but then if he were he'd also be a lot more expensive. Think carefully about what he'll add in terms of where you can finish before spending too much, i keep saying this but there's little value to spending extra money to finish in the same place.

Those guys are way better than all bar one on my team...
I echo Quin's point...don't try too much too quickly...one 74K CSR star player gets injured in week one and you'll be wondering why you spent all that money....
Concentrate on improving the core of your squad would be my opinon...I managed it with 1 player at 44K, the remainder between 25 and 33K...and still came 4th - against sides with 100K+ CSR players...CSR isn't everything.
A couple of players around 35K as long as they are young enough will give you the backbone of the team...but I wouldn't go mad on the TM.
That's my twopenny'orth

Re: New Players for div 4 survival (hopefully)
depth within your first XV is always key .
i had five 300kcsr players and wasnt capable of winning my league , i reduced the number to two and walked the league.
if you aim to have an evenly matched 15 in terms of quality you will be heading in a great direction.
i agree dont spend money on stars if it wont improve your chances at more prize money

wing you confused me a bit there. your saying you did better with only two 300kcsr players rather than five? so you really did better with a worse team? i dont get how that works

All are decent purchases, Cantel will probably go for outside of your price range though.

i had 5 300kcsr and bad depth i reduced it to 2 and hugely improved my depth which gave me less stars but also reduced my weaknessess.
so a more rounded team is better , thats my point

Re: New Players for div 4 survival (hopefully)
ahh cheers wing i get your meaning now my bad i thought you just meant you dropped 3 good players and that was it
and mb i'm doing a similar thing, going for 3 young uns i can train to become stars in the future and a couple oldies that just fill a few gaps.
i'd also point out, for ones your looking at getting young, keeping for a long time and training, you can be more picky and i'd say its also worth searching for good disciplin with them
