Squad Overhaul
Hey
I'm just getting back into BR after being off for a few months and I'm pretty overwhelmed at the moment. My members are grim (although I now have about a thousand of them) and my squad is dying for an injection of fresh blood. I've bought a couple of fairly good players off the market on the cheap but I still need to overhaul my squad completely. Any tips on how to make a successful squad overhaul?
EDIT: I keep everything at the absolute minimum when it comes to coaching and facilities to keep expenses down - so I usually look to buy the finished product on the market so I don't have to train myself.

Re: Squad Overhaul
Probably best if you stick up a summary of your squad. If you don't want to do that take a look at Blackout Rugby organiser, download it and use it to look at the relative strengths and weaknesses of each player + read some of the threads in the forum. There is a good one by Raggs in the links section.

Re: Squad Overhaul
I strongly recommend DO NOTHING
You're the only active manager in your division it seems, as in actually logs on and makes changes to your squad. As things stand you will win the league. So any money above what you currently pay to achieve the same result is a waste of money
Do you have any intention of starting to train players in the near future?

No, I'm not going to train any players.
But according to the BR Organizer (cheers ngater) I've got the third best squad in the league, though.

Re: Squad Overhaul
who has a better squad? I had only a very quick look at the other squads, but it seemed yours was easily the strongest

Quind, agree 100% - unless you need to buy to promote DO NOTHING! Then spend the money where you need to next season. Only thing to think about is team training really.

Re: Squad Overhaul
I has to be said it is very boring to do nothing, and likely I wouldn't have the patience myself. But it's really the most advantageous ploy

Re: Squad Overhaul
Simply as this thread is called squad overhaul I thought I'd use it. Anyone looking for a new hooker this 106kg lad looks an excellent prsopect to train - http://www.blackoutrugby.com/game/club.squad.php#player=12307507
Just turned 17 last round, already impressive handling, and good starting points for stamina, defence, technique and strength. Also already got an exp pop, and if you want him longer term he'd make a good captain too.
Going to be a little light for many, but having a lighter hooker isn't the worst thing, especially when starting with 10 attack. And it should help keep the price down.
He's 33K CSR now, auction ends 17th Jan, and there are no current bids at the$1000 reserve. One point of caution his wages are $8,708 courtesy of the minimum wage at his selling club and not I suspect from his skills
