Season 25 NT World Cup
So it all kicks off today as England host Kenya, followed by group games against Ivory Coast and Romania. Seeing as we're actually the hosts games will be at a standard time for matches in England for the week and weekend. England have assembled a very strong squad and are rightly one of the favourites, but it's not always that easy once you're into the event and typically a few things happen to break for the eventual winner.

Here's hoping the holy Lamb of God On England's pleasant pastures was seen

An easy opening win for England and no perm injuries, next up it's the Ivory Coast on Friday.

Despite Wings' increasingly fanciful claims of being a Geordie England find themselves sitting pretty at the top of the group after Round 2.
The final group game comes against a Romanian team who are young for the NT but fairly talented nonetheless.

England cruise into the Top 16 stage with a 48-10 win over a Romania and now play Georgia who used 1sts and some energy up in overcoming France.

The nearly 20 extra penalties might suggest you weren't entirely serious

Well, yeah, I thought to trade some tries for penalties just to piss off wing

Well judged or blind luck, you decide. Either way England are through, and these results tend to happen to teams who end up winning the event, the last U20s win came with probably 2 sneaky wins, maybe even 3 or 4

Right, the day of the final, England expects. And it's a great chance of a win that England have given energy, CSR and HGA, but the Argies do have a lot of experience, and some great form in their tight five unit especially and that makes the game very much less than straightforward.

Re: Season 25 NT World Cup
interesting both sides don't have optimum captains. England with a reputable leader and Argentina with a dire despicable leadership. Kinda weird as they have an admirable leader on the pitch. Something must have gone wrong there in the NT manager's selections

Re: Season 25 NT World Cup
it is pretty common for england not to have the ideal captain, i saw it happen on 2 occasions before. No biggy, even if the consensus on captain selection is followed the ME makes serious mistakes. And that is if the consensus is right. We have no basis to say that the consensus on captain selection is the right way to do it.
In short, we know so little about how the ME is affected by captain you might as well pick one at random. That being said for the time being, following the consensus might be the best course of action. If only it were because it is currently the only theory on selecting a captain.

My theory is that the captain influences the entire team's ability. Not majorly or anything but ever so slightly. That in itself could be the difference between a win and a loss.

Must be a chance England captaincy is designed such Holman (among others) goes off and Secker comes on to take the armband - just a thought
