Finances in the game
I plan on doing some research on finances within the game. The first thing I want to look at is whether Standing is profitable or not. I see some teams have removed it but I'm curious as to whether it is a good idea or not. Has any research been done on this before I go and waste my time?!

Re: Finances in the game
Most people, me included removed there standing area back when it was commonly accepted that standing "seats" were non profitable.
However now that the stadium staffing/utilities has been changed the standing area is supposedly profitable but not by much.
Generally the best thing to do these days is keep the standing area you start off with as that doesn't cost you anything to build... Do not build more standing though as it would take forever to recover the cost of building the standing area in the first place.
I think that is the conclusion that has been reached anyway, Raggs is the best guy to talk to since he spent a long time researching this and may even still be doing research on the subject not sure.

Re: Finances in the game
I did a hell of a lot of research on this. Admittedly before the staffing changes. What I can tell you is that electricity and gas is your main culprit, and that hasn't changed.
It comes out at about $11.20 per filled standing, and you receive $11.65 per filled standing. That leaves 45c per filled standing to be spent on staffing.
When staffing existed I apparently had less than minimum, since my staffing costs went up after the change. I can also tell you that when I added only 1200 standing (before changes), I needed to add more than 45c per standings worth of staff.

Re: Finances in the game
Having read this, I've removed some of the standing seats I had (down from 2750 to 2000, so nothing dramatic).... My thinking being that if the attendance is the same I'd much rather they were sitting and earning me more money than standing. Also I never quite filled my stadium anyway so had spare capacity.

Re: Finances in the game
People don't go elsewhere. They either get the seats they want, or they don't turn up.
Re: Finances in the game
In that case... oops. Still, if they're costing me money more matches than not then it's the right thing to do in the long term.
One thing I've learned lately is that generally it's better to act in the way which benefits you most in the long term even if it seems slightly counter-intuitive at the time. I have recently applied this at work, at the poker table, and now here, even if it was by accident!

Re: Finances in the game
If you weren't filling your seating, I'm positive you're acting in the correct way by removing them .
Maybe don't remove any more though eh . Did you ever fill your stadium as it currently is? It'll be nice if you fill it again to see the profit difference.
